Bauer has used a 3-piece design on the X40 elbow pad. Essentially, Bauer has segmented the forearm and elbow guard into two pieces. This design offers some good mobility while maintaining protection. The X:40 elbow pad features lightweight Vent Armor foam in the bicep and slash guard, for solid protection. The Vapor X40 has a form fitting design, great for players looking for a low profile pad with good protection. Some players with wider or larger elbows might find going up a size will help. Bauer has used standard velcro elastic straps on the bicep guard and slash guard with the Anchor wrap strap across the middle of the pad.
